- Survey from the ladder, with photographs. We probe every board and look behind the soffit; you get the pictures with the quote.
- A quote by elevation that separates repair from replacement, so you can see what is driving the price and decide how far to go.
- Repair before replacement. Splices, consolidation and Tricoya lamination keep sound timber in place; replacement is a full strip-out, never a cap over rot.
- The cause fixed with the symptom. Gutter falls, eaves felt, ventilation and verges are dealt with at the same visit.
- Finished properly. Timber primed on all faces and painted; uPVC fitted with the right fixings and gaps; site left clean.
Older houses and conservation areas
A large part of our work is on period houses — the terraces and villas of Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich, the market towns of Suffolk and Essex, the cottages of the fens — where the roofline detail is part of the building. Like-for-like timber repair is what conservation officers expect there, and it is the work we enjoy most. Where a listed building needs consent for a change of material or profile, we can supply the description and photographs.
